How To Clear The Smoke In Monsters Of Etheria

Whistleburrow Cave is a large cave on the left side of the Forest.

Appearance

Whistleburrow Cave is a cave filled to the brim with glowing crystals lighting it up. Many signs of humanity's influence is seen here, with wooden beams, torches, barrels, and minecart tracks being present in the cave. Most noticable, however, is the entrance to the D.A.R.C. Alchean Facility. One part of the cave is blocked behind a pile of rubble, with police tape and a hazard sign indicating that something dangerous could be behind there.

Points of Interest

D.A.R.C. Facility Entrance

The entrance to the D.A.R.C. Alchean Facility. Upon entering the area, you're greeted with a giant pit in the ground, with a ladder in case you fall in. Through an imposing metal door you can enter the sterile lab facility.

Coal Rocks

Throughout the cave are rocks with pieces of coal in them. If you have a pickaxe, you can mine and collect the coal. Coal plays a role in completing Cole's Quest in order to get Irasper, and you'll need a piece to fuel a furnace in the Town to get Ovelin.

Stalactites

Stalactites loom from above on the cave ceiling, and you can make them fall towards the ground using Roar or Earthquake. Harvesting the stalactites (You'll need a pickaxe) has a chance to get you a Cromite.

Cobweb

One corner of the cave contains a cobweb that sometimes has a glowing aura in it. This can be used to unlock Jardrix, along with the other one in the Winding Corridor.

Aralon Traps

Scattered across the cave floor are what appear to be Entropy Orbs, however touching one will instead deal damage to the player. You'll also get a Wisp of Life Essence, however, and unlock Eidlon the first time.

Whistleburrow Cave is a small cave located near the southern outskirts of the Deep Marine Community.

Appearance

A dark cave filled with brightly-colored and faintly glowing crystals. Wooden beams hold up the second floor.

The second floor has a small pool of water.

Points of Interest

Tunnel

The tunnel connects Whistleburrow Cave to the Underground Lab. Since the lab is blocked by thick smoke caused by the nearby fire in the lab, the move Defog is required to go through.

Clearing the smoke for the first time unlocks Kousai.

Second Floor

The second floor of the cave is empty, unless the quest Magician Mayhem is activated. After the quest is started, the Magic Hat is found near the corner closest to the exit.

During the Fourth of July 2019 event, a white crystal could be found. Killing a player with a Basic-type move and then attacking the white crystal was a part of unlocking Patriotic Umbris. Additionally, during the third phase of the Halloween 2019 event, a white Spark of Life could be found hovering above the pool. Interacting with it while having all five bones allowed players to unlock Scary Umbris.
